Seems like a good idea!

Maybe we should get rid of them all...Every one of them!!!!

I cant beleive that this is what it is coming to. I got this from http://anarchangel.blogspot.com/

Too funny and to true.

I have been tooling around on YouTube and I came across this video. There is allot of stuff out there about gun control and Obama. Its really hard to know what to believe any more. Everyone has their own agenda. The right and the left. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MIDDLE?

Bullpup SKS

I saw this on one of the blogs I follow, but I cant recall which one. I may entertain getting one of these for a few reasons.

I have an SKS and I have noticed that it is really heavy in the front. If it was a bullpup design it would bring that front weight closer to the body making it more comfortable.

Another reason is you can attach a scope on a regular SKS but it has to be put on the rear bolt cover. So when you clean it you have to remove the scope. I never checked to see if it held zero but I imagine if you take that cover off, the cover wont reinstall in the exact spot you zeroed it to. So the accessory rail on the bullpup furniture would be helpful in that regard.

The last reason it because i would really like to have a bullpup firearm but i don't want to plunk down $2000+ to get one.

Here's a video of the Bullpup SKS operated by a dork who thinks that a fabric screen will offer some kind of protection. I love how they show him running to the screen a few time at different camera angles as if hes in the middle of the shit. LOOK OUT HE'S GONNA GIT YA!

Although a Steyr AUG would be cool as hell to have too!! Please pardon the narration. I dont know what the hell he is saying but the video is nice! It also sounds kinda cool. "Bla bla bla bla Steyr AUSHEE"

Rules

I got this off a blog called "Bring the Heat, Bring the Stupid"

Good read....

Rules of Combat
We’ve seen a lot of discussion the last few years about the law of war, but not a lot about the rules of war. Well, here you go:

1. Friendly fire – isn’t.
2. Recoilless rifles – aren’t.
3. Suppressive fires – won’t.
4. You are not Superman; Marines and fighter pilots take note.
5. A sucking chest wound is Nature’s way of telling you to slow down.
6. If it’s stupid but it works, it isn’t stupid.
7. Try to look unimportant; the enemy may be low on ammo.
8. If at first you don’t succeed, call in an air strike.
9. If you are forward of your position, your artillery will fall short.
10. Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.
11. Never go to bed with anyone crazier than yourself.
12. Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.
13. If your attack is going really well, it’s an ambush.
14. The enemy diversion you’re ignoring is their main attack.
15. The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions: a. When they’re ready. b. When you’re not.
16. No OPLAN ever survives initial contact.
17. Ther is no such thing as a perfect plan.
18. Five-second fuses always burn three seconds.
19. There is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole.
20. A retreating enemy is probably just falling back and regrouping.
21. The important things are always simple.
22. The simple are always hard.
23. The easy way is always mined.
24. Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at.
25. Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you.
26. If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in the combat zone.
27. When you have secured the area, make sure the enemy knows it too.
28. Incoming fire has the right of way.
29. No combat ready unit has ever passed inspection.
30. No inspection ready unit has ever passed combat.
31. If the enemy is within range, so are you.
32. The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.
33. Things which must be shipped together as a set, aren’t.
34. Things that must work together, can’t be carried to the field that way.
35. Radios will fail as soon as you need fire support.
36. Radar tends to fail at night and in bad weather, and especially during both.
37. Anything you do can get you killed, including nothing.
38. Make it too tough for the enemy to get in, and you won’t be able to get out.
39. Tracers work both ways.
40. If you take more than your fair share of objectives, you will have more than your fair share of objectives to take.
41.When both sides are convinced they’re about to lose, they’re both right.
42.Professional soldiers are predictable, but the world is full of dangerous amateurs.
43. Military Intelligence is an oxymoron.
44. Fortify your front; you’ll get your rear shot up.
45. Weather ain’t neutral.
46. If you can’t remember, the Claymore is pointed towards you.
47. Air defense motto: shoot ‘em down; sort ‘em out on the ground.
48. The Cavalry doesn’t always come to the rescue.
49. Napalm is an area support weapon.
50. Mines are equal opportunity weapons.
51. B-52s are the ultimate close support weapon.
52. Sniper’s motto: reach out and touch someone.
53. Killing for peace is like screwing for virginity.
54. The one item you need is always in short supply.
55. Interchangeable parts aren’t.
56. It’s not the one with your name on it; it’s the one addressed “to whom it may concern” you’ve got to think about.
57. When in doubt, empty your magazine.
58. The side with the simplest uniforms wins.
59. Combat will occur on the ground between two adjoining maps.
60. If the Platoon Sergeant can see you, so can the enemy.
61. Never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lie down, never stay awake when you can sleep.
62. A bad ride is better than a good walk.
63. The most dangerous thing in the world is a Second Lieutenant with a map and a compass.
64. Exceptions prove the rule and destroy the battle plan.
65. Everything always works in your HQ, everything always fails in the Colonel’s HQ.
66. The enemy never watches until you make a mistake.
67. One enemy soldier is never enough, but two is entirely too many.
68. A clean (and dry) uniform is a magnet for mud and rain.
69. The worse the weather, the more you are required to be out in it.
70. Whenever you have plenty of ammo, you never miss. Whenever you are low on ammo, you can’t hit the broad side of a barn.
71. The more a weapon costs, the farther you will have to send it away to be repaired.
72. The complexity of a weapon is inversely proportional to the IQ of the weapon’s operator.
73. Field experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.
74. If enough data is collected, a board of inquiry can prove anything.
76. For every action, there is an equal and opposite criticism.
77. Air strikes always overshoot the target, artillery always falls short.
78. When reviewing the radio frequencies that you just wrote down, the most important ones are always illegible.
79. Those who hesitate under fire usually do not end up KIA or WIA.
80. The tough part about being a leader is that the troops don’t know what they want, but they know for certain what they don’t want.
81. To steal information from a person is called plagiarism. To steal information from the enemy is called gathering intelligence.
82. The weapon that usually jams when you need it the most is the M240B.
83. The perfect officer for the job will transfer in the day after that billet is filled by someone else.
84. When you have sufficient supplies & ammo, the enemy takes 2 weeks to attack. When you are low on supplies & ammo the enemy decides to attack that night.
85. The newest and least experienced soldier will usually be awarded the Medal of Honor.
86. A Purple Heart just proves that were you smart enough to think of a plan, stupid enough to try it, and lucky enough to survive.
87. Beer Math –> 2 beers times 37 men equals 49 cases.
88. Body count Math –> 3 guerrillas plus 1 probable plus 2 pigs equals 37 enemies killed in action.
89. The bursting radius of a hand grenade is always one foot greater than your jumping range.
90. All-weather close air support doesn’t work in bad weather.
91. The crucial round is a dud.
92. There is no such place as a convenient foxhole.
93. Don’t ever be the first, don’t ever be the last and don’t ever volunteer to do anything.
94. If your positions are firmly set and you are prepared to take the enemy assault on, he will bypass you.
95. If your ambush is properly set, the enemy won’t walk into it.
96. If your flank march is going well, the enemy expects you to outflank him.
97. Density of fire increases proportionally to the curiousness of the target.
98. Odd objects attract fire – never lurk behind one.
99. Odd objects attract fire. You are odd.
100. The more stupid the leader is, the more important missions he is ordered to carry out.
101. The self-importance of a superior is inversely proportional to his position in the hierarchy (as ishis deviousness and mischievousness).
102. There is always a way, and it usually doesn’t work.
103. Success occurs when no one is looking, failure occurs when the General is watching.
104. The enemy never monitors your radio frequency until you broadcast on an unsecured channel.
105. Whenever you drop your equipment in a fire-fight, your ammo and grenades always fall the farthest away, and your canteen always lands at your feet.
106. As soon as you are served hot chow in the field, it rains.
107. Never tell the Platoon Sergeant you have nothing to do.
108. The seriousness of a wound (in a fire-fight) is inversely proportional to the distance to any form of cover.
109. Walking point = sniper bait.
110. Your bivouac for the night is the spot where you got tired of marching that day.

113. If orders can be misunderstood they will be.

Personal Safety

At work today, I was talking to a driver who works for Columbus Wood Products out of Columbus, Ohio. We were just chewing the fat about nothing really. The conversation then turned to where he lived and the things that have happened to him wile living in that part of town.

Apparently, a few years back, he was out on a run delivering pizza at around 11:30pm. When he finished up for the night, he grabbed a free pie, tossed it in his car, and headed home.

While pulling into his apartment complex everything seemed to be normal. He drove into a parking spot, turned off his car, grabbed his dinner and opened his car door. The next thing he knew there was a gun pointed at his head. A robber demanded he give them his wallet. Scared for his life he readily gave it up. A hundred and fifty dollars isn't worth dieing for. Especially if you have a family.

After he gave up his wallet, the attacker and his buddy's jumped in the vehicle and took off.

Doing what any of us would have done, he called the police and filed a report. It seems there was a rash of robberies just like his in that area. The cops called nearby apartment complex security to tell them the description of the vehicle, what the assailants looked like, and what had happened.

A few hours later there was a knock at his door. It was 3:30am and he had just turned in after such a scary ordeal. He rolled out of bed and answered the door. It was the police. They need him to ID the people they just apprehended. Sure enough it was the same guys.

I asked him "Didn't you want to punch them in their face?"

He responded by saying "Seeing how the cops were there, it didn't seem to be such a good idea."

Makes sense i guess...

That story and other happenings in my life, really makes me think about how cautious you have to be. You never know when desperation will knock at your door. I can't help but think about how lucky he was.

Another thing he told me that most of those kids will talk tough but won't back it up. Flash a gun and they normally change their tune. It's a shame that it has to come to that. But, in the same sense, I'd also hate to ever run into someone who has nothing to lose. I'd rather have the option to flash it and shut them up than have something worse happen.

Sighting in My new S&W AR-15

So this weekend I finally got to go and shoot my new AR-15. I was so excited! Like a kid the day before Christmas.

My father in law and I got to the range got out targets up and got to it. At first I wasn't really paying much attention as to where my shots were going. After getting used to the recoil (which wasn't bad at all) i started to see that all of my shots were going high. So i proceeded to adjust the elevation nob on my Eotech clone. Yes i said clone. I soon discovered that I perhaps should have went all out on my optics.

For some reason, when adjusting the elevation up or down the circle dot was moving up and down when I was turning the knob in the direction for it to go down. So I figured that's all the adjustment it had! I was PISSED!! You can see my frustration in the youtube video. I dropped 130.00 and I didn't have the option of returning it. I bought it off of Gunbroker.com and the time that I had to return it had already lapsed.

After calming down a bit I decided that I wasn't going to waste any more ammo on messing with it. So I decided to shoot my Taurus .45 PT-845 and my German K-98 a bit. It didn't make me feel any better. I really wanted to get the AR dialed in. At that point i decided to pack it up and call it a day.

After I got home I went straight to my bar, made a cocktail and headed for the workbench in my shop.

The first thing i did was take that HoloSite off and try to see what it was doing. After spending a little time with it i realized that the stupid thing was going up and down BUT it was going up higher every time it cycled. So there was more adjustment than i realized when i was at the range! Oh well. That gives me an excuse to go out and try again!

Needless to say it was a ton of fun to shoot. It is by far my favoite gun in my collection! Hopefully next time i get it out i dont have any problems. Knowing my luck ill get the thing Zeroed and it wont hold it.... lol
