Cop Killer

I know this is old news but i had to post this.

CopKiller

Good riddance to this scumbag. He’s the one who shot and killed 4 Cops in the coffee shop in Washington and was a convicted child rapist.  A Seattle patrol officer was investigating a stolen car and there was a confrontation. Thanks to that patrolman the taxpayers saved ton of money in litigation and incarceration. Surly he would have been put on death row but  this way was better. Swift cheap justice.

Thanksgiving

Since Thanksgiving and Christmas is all most upon us, the time of year makes me think of those who are less fortunate.

While there are many worthwhile charities out there, before giving to them consider this one. It seems very worthwhile.

This is for all the AR lovers out there AND just a bit of proof for the AK lovers!

I read a lot of post about how AR's are inferior guns due to the fact that they are DI driven and sensitive to dust. Here is a little proof that you shouldn't beleive everything that you hear. But, you CAN believe what you see.

BTW im not knocking AK's. They are good guns. Cheap, but good.

With all the piston talk about AR's and the DI system being dirty.... you should check out this post by Nutnfancy. Granted the video is a bit on the long side, and it seems the price of piston conversions are coming down, but he shows that piston guns have thier problems too. I know that my AR gets a little hot in the lower reciever, but I personaly would rather have the heat there than on the handgaurd.

I guess that is one problem of having a "big ol' metal quad cool rail" on the forgrip.... Handy... But hot.

Discuss.

May I join in?

After a run like this I don't blame him if he never picks up a gun again!!!

Go out on top I allways say! Impressive!

Steel Plate Shoot at Pickaway Sportsman Club

This Saturday I was invited to go to Circleville, Ohio with a couple of friends and try my hand at steel plate shooting.

It was a cold morning, I think it only got to 45 degrees for the whole day, but never the less I was excited.

I decided that my best bet was to take my Beretta 92 FS Onix to the shoot. I had plenty of 9 mm ammo and it seemed like the best choice out of all the pistols I have.

It turns out that this one didn't make the cut. See at the top left where the safety switch is? Well it turns out that if your gun has a safety it has to be used when you re-holster your weapon. SO.. When you draw you have to release the safety, aim then fire. The safety on this gun is VERY hard to flip off during a draw.

Also there is no cocked and locked option with the Beretta 92FS.

After you do get the safety off you have to fire the first shot Double Action Only. Then it goes to single action after the first round.... So, for me, the first shot was hard and usually a miss.

The gun ran great. I didn't have any jams at all, but considering all that I had to go through to get the shot off I don't think I'll use it again. Put that on top of it being my first time, the range officer giving me direction from time to time due to small mistakes I was making, and the general nervousness that I was feeling with all eyes on me while shooting, I didn't want to mess with a stupid safety and a DAO trigger pull on the first shot.

That being said. I plan on getting a different pistol for the next time I shoot. I'm leaning towards a Glock 17 or a Springfield XD-9. I'm not sure, but that won't happen any time soon. Gotta get some of my debt in check first..... Just add it to my growing want list I guess!

Below is a couple of videos I had taken with my phone. The quality isn't the best but it serves the purpose!

I would love to have any feedback if you have any experiance in shooting events like this. Tips or links would be great!

Here's Pete, the guy that invited me to the shoot, tearing up the steel. you can check out his take on the shoot at Huey's Gunsite.

The next 2 are me trying my best. The first one is the best because, as Pete can attest to, you should probably keep your sleeves and collars away from me when I'm shooting.... My brass is HOT and it seems to always find its way to some unsuspecting victims skin!!!

I got him a couple times in the past, and Range Officer got his too!!

Company of Thieves

I know I haven't posted for a while. Honestly, I haven't really had much to say. Coming from me that can definitely be a good thing. However, I did want to say that for some reason I cant get enough of this song. Originally, i heard it on CD 101 and I've been hooked on it since. The studio version is really good, but I think you can really tell if a band is good if they can perform it on stage. They do a good job on this performance.

Top 10 Reasons Men May Prefer Guns Over Women....from Theo Spark by Theo Spark

#10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.

#9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road.

#8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.

#7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.

#6 . Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.

#5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.

#4. Guns function normally every day of the month.

#3. A gun doesn't ask,"Do these new grips make me look fat?"

#2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.

And the number one reason a gun is favored over a woman....

#1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN !!

Here is a little reminder for us all.

It's amazing how this was recorded many years ago, but yet it still applies to us today.

I've noticed that there is unease among all of us in regards to immigration. This country was founded on bunch of foreigners coming here to start a new life. The fact of the matter is that they need to do it the right way. Become a citizen, get a job and pay taxes. If they do then they are fine with me. Muslim. Jew. Hebrew. Russian. Asian.....I don't care.

I do care about everyone who is doing it the wrong way. There are rules in place. They are there for a reason. If you break them then you should be punished for it. I follow the rules. I pay my taxes. I get my ass out of bed so i can PAY MY BILLS!!!.....

Personally im tired of the Boo hoo... The man is keeping me down. Get off your ass and do something about it.

This is the UNITED STATED OF AMERICA!!!

What is in a name?

A woman arrived at a party and, while scanning the guests, spotted an attractive man standing alone. She approached him, smiled and said, 'Hello. My name is Carmen.'

'That's a beautiful name' he replied. 'Is it a family name?' 'No' she replied. 'Actually I gave it to myself. It represents the things that I enjoy the most - cars and men. Therefore, I chose Carmen'.

'What's your name?'

He answered, 'B.J. Titsenguns.

CCW Tip

As you all know, I just got my Concealed Carry Licence. At the class, the issue got brought up on how to handle a traffic stop or any encounter while carrying a concealed weapon. What was taught to me was to inform the officer that you are a permit holder and let then know that you are carrying. Not "I HAVE A GUN!!!!" That would freak anyone out!!!

While nosing around on the net I came across a video of an alternate way to handle a traffic stop or any instance where the officer asks for identification and you are carrying. This is great advice from one of the foremost authority's in personal protection and police work Massad Ayoob. Honestly it makes perfect sense.

Guns And Blenders

Recently in the news there was a story out of Arizona about a black gentleman that attended the presidential town hall meeting. You may have heard about this on the news.

By looking at him he looks like a regular guy. He could be you neighbor or perhaps an attorney. I don't know, all I'm saying is he looked like you and I outside of one thing. He had a AR-15 slung over his shoulder.

Of course the media ATE this up.... but what I don't get is why the big deal? Sure he's carrying a rifle that can kill someone but why is it shocking? Cars kill people and you don't see the media interviewing the people that drove to the town hall.

People don't drop their jaws at blenders either. I bet those nasty contraptions have malled a hand or two. Perhaps we should put a ban on them? It may save lives! You never know.

Bottom line is that guns are tools. As are blenders. Inanimate objects. If you plug in a blender and flip the switch, I bet it would maim some tomatoes into submission. A tomato killer so to speak. The same goes for guns. Load a bullet into the chamber, pull the trigger and it goes BANG!
The one thing that they have in common is the operator. There in lies the problem. Not firearms or blenders.

I suggest a people ban.

But that would be silly.

CCW is done!

I completed the Concealed Carry course today. Here is some video from the shooting portion of the class. I had a lot of fun doing it. I haven't really had a chance to shoot my Beretta 92/FS but i ran 15o rounds through it and it shot flawlessly. This is Bob Veneco, a friend of the family who took the class with me, shooting it.

Here i am testing out a Glock 26. I really liked it. The size was great for concealed carry but I still felt it was too fat for a 9mm.

As far as the class itself I highly recommend any shooter or person interesting in learning about personal safty options to take it. It was very informative. Even if you don't intend to carry just the information offered was worth the cost of the class(which by the way was very affordable @$100.00). We discussed Ohio laws, different shooting techniques and equipment. If you are interested in taking the class, it is offered by Officer Brian Gano of the Hilliard Police. The class is not affiliated with the department but you can contact him there at (614)876-2429. If he isn't there just leave a message and he will get back with you.

Concealed Carry

Last night was the first night if my concealed carry course.

It was interesting but boring.

We just read from the Ohio concealed carry hand book and read stuff that the officer had pulled off the Internet about gun safety and incidences where people have successfully defended themselves with thier firearm.

Tonight he has a laser simulator or something so we get to pretend shoot stuff.

I will post again soon.

I think im officially done with Genn..

As soon as I saw this I was curious about the validity of what was being said.

It seemed fishy that they start out by saying " I wouldn't try this at home, so I took someone else's computer to do it. "

Then they continue to say that the system is "bogged down.. guess that's what you get for a multi million dollar web site BUT this is what the disclaimer REALLY said (but were not going to show you..).

I went on the Cars.gov website and looked for a DEALER SUPPORT titled page and i didn't find one. And i checked every page.

So i guess we should be good little watchers and take what Glenn has to say and treat it like its gold. Sure he stands for some things that I believe in, but this is JUST RIDICULOUS!!!

To shore up the fact that Fox News and MSNBC has their own agendas, check out Huey's Gunsight's Latest post on William Kostric

I don't know what to believe anymore.

On a lighter note.

Here is a useful chart to tell you if you gonna get some tail....

Click on image to get a better view.

Nationalized Health Care

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I am in the know as far as the health care issue is concerned, however I am not dumb. I have experience government ran "Benefits" before. I, just as may before me, have served in the military and one thing that I was taught early on was that we were there to uphold democracy and NOT practice it.

That, I feel, is going to sum up the health care reform. The health issues that face many Americans can, and perhaps will, be put on hold for special interest groups and lobbyist own interest. Just as it has been with our current system.

All I hear is " They are gonna do this" or "they are going to do that."

The bottom line is that I don't think ANY of them know what the hell they are doing.

There is no way that you can pass legislation that contains 1300 to 1800 pages and be able to dissect it all and debate the pros and cons in 2 or three weeks. Just as they have with the Stimulus Package.

OK .... I'm ranting.

I found a video that sums my feelings up very well..... Hence this whole post.

Giving my personal experience and the history of the United States, this is what is going to happen if this crap is passed...I pray that some good comes of this for our childrens sake.

Ice Cream

I just had an ice cream man drive down the street.....

What possesses someone to do that for a living?

I'm not saying that is a bad thing, and that all ice cream men are bad. Good for the driver trying to make a living!

I just think that when you are growing up you set goals in life. and if you really want them, you strive for them.

Did this guy wake up one morning and say " Hey, I want to bring joy to children. I think ill sell ice cream out of a truck." If that is the case, then good for him, and god bless!

But what if it isn't?

I wish I wasn't asking this question.

The Ruger LCP

I recently bought a Ruger LCP. Normally wouldn't buy a pistol like this, but I was hanging out with Pete over at Huey's Gunsight and he planted the seed.

He had just bought a S&W AR-15 and I was helping him install a sling attachment plate to it. He and I were talking and he pulled out his concealed carry piece. It was a Kel-Tec P3-AT. I was surprised at how small it was! He popped out the mag, cleared the gun and handed it over to me.

At first I couldn't get over the size. How could a gun this small be so comfortable in your hand? While I was checking it out, he was telling me that the Ruger LCP was a clone of the P-3AT but the Ruger was more polished and refined.

I did some research on the Kel-Tec and the Ruger, and decided that I was going buy one, but spend the extra cash on a Ruger. Granted, they are more or less the same gun, but I didn't care for the finish of the Kel-Tec. Also, the over molding in some places on the pistol grip itself was a bit unsightly. You can easily sand it off, but I didn't want to go through the trouble.

I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, but everything I have read and seen about it tells me that I'm not going to be disappointed.

Here are more pics for your viewing plesure!

Our Tax Dollars Well Spent.

I just came across these pic's on the net. Im a sucker for bad ass naval ships and this one is SWEET. I would love to be out on this one!

It is intended as a small assault transport with a variety of capabilities depending on the mission module installed. The ship is a trimaran design capable of over 40 knots (74 km/h; 46 mph), and will probably be delivered to the US Navy in September 2009.

Good ol' Glen

I saw Michelle Malkin on the Today show this morning and then I saw that she was on Glen Beck too! She is out promoting her book Culture of Corruption and all I can say is this girl is a firecracker! When I saw her this morning she was being interviewed by Matt Lauer. He was behoved by her passion and ability to have an answer for any question that he had of her. By the look on his face he wasn't thrilled by what she was saying. I'm sure he had some words with the producer after the interview was over.

Anyway. I wanted to post the Glen Beck Interview and post a link to the today show interview to see if i could drum up a little chit chat about what you think.

Plus she is a little hottie. She can talk all she wants.

Feds may help bring Wi-Fi to city of Columbus, Ohio

So it seems that our stimulus money has finally shown up in our wonderful city that cant afford to pay for public services. Guess what Columbus? We may get citywide Wi-Fi!

Of course we will have to pay for access. Here is a quote from the article in the Columbus Dispatch.

"We're having real good reliability," said Grant Reveal, director of Gahanna's Technology Department. Once the fiber and wireless technology was in place, using the network wasn't difficult, he said. "We're seeing a huge return on the investment."

I'm sure the HUGE return is being returned to the consumer in reduced rates.

That being said. Open your wallets! We now have something else we MUST have and CANT live without.

Who needs Police and Fire protection anyway? Oh wait. We will pay for that too.

Too bad I can't vote on it!

I hope that this isnt true.

This is one if the things that i hope doesn't happen. Must read.

http://seanlinnane.blogspot.com/2009/07/bloodshed-within-30-days.html

Not everyone has the answers. I dont.

We just have to listen to each other and come up with the best solution.

New Jersey is About to Eliminate Handgun Sales

New Jersey is about to limit handgun purchases for dealers and individuals to 1 per month according to Attorney Evan Nappen's interpretation of the proposed legislation. As a result, once dealers sell their inventory, you will no longer be able to purchase handguns in New Jersey. The proposed legislation will have the effect of putting all gun dealers our of business and their employees will loose their jobs.

Evan has put the legislation on notice of this for over a year but the bill has not been modified to correct for this oversight. Some believe it is an oversight, others believe that it is intentional.

This bill seems to violate the commerce clause and the Heller decision by the Supreme Court last year. If passed it will undoubtedly be challenged on a constitutional basis.

Taxes

In 1775 the average tax burdon was under 3% of income and we went to war.

Bend over...change is coming!

AMA Input on Goverment Health Care

Apparently the American Medical Association has weighed in on the new economic
stimulus package and the idea of socialized medicine plus Medicare reform....

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to
make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the
Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.

Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians
said, 'Oh, Grow up!'

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the
Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic
Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were
pissed off at the whole idea.

The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and the
Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to
the assholes in Washington!

Bike Helmets.....YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!

So...I heard the funniest thing on the radio today. It seems that our elected politicians have passed legislation mandating that our kids wear bike helmets.

Not only have they found time to pass a RIDICULOUS LAW , apparently the Columbus Fire Department is going to be GIVING AWAY FREE BIKE HELMETS!!!!WOO FREAKIN HOOO!!!

Last time I checked.... Columbus has a special election issue on the ballet this quarter asking for an income tax increase so that they can pay the Firefighters AND Police Officers! So answer me this..... Why are we giving away bike helmets all the while wasting time AND taxpayer money on frivolous legislation, when we can't even seem to pay our own Civil Service Workers? Not only that, but there are PLENTY of people who work in Columbus, but do not live in Franklin County.

Seeing how they don't live there, they don't even have the opportunity to vote on the matter! I guess the little man doesn't have a voice anymore. Even if they contribute to the local economy. Who cares right?

Doesn't anyone that we elect have any common sense about them? Or is it all about them? I can't help but feel that, sadly enough, it is the latter. They all need to be fired.

Any comments are welcome. I'm always looking for a different point of view.

My Collection

Here is a few pics of my collection. It is still a work in progress, but then again what isn't!

Here is my Taurus PT-845

Here is my Beretta 92FS Onix

My Ruger GP100 revolver

These are (From top to bottom)
Franchi I-12 Diamond Semi-auto 12ga. Shotgun
1943 Russian SKS
1942 German Kar98k 8mm
Smith & Wesson M&P 15 W/ Magpul BUS, CQC stock, Vortex StrikeFire red dot(not in pic),and UTG quad rail w/ vertical grip...Yes I went cheap on the quad-rail. I couldn't bring myself to spend buckets of money and a rail system.

Below that on the left is an OLD Iver Johnson .32 top break and to the right is a Harrington and Richardson .22 top break revolver.

my 1944 Mosin Nagant M-44

And last but not least this is the gun that started the whole obsession with firearms, the first one i ever bought, my Benelli Nova 12ga.pump shotgun.

There are more to come too. I wouldn't mind getting a bullpup type gun. Also an AK is in order but the prices have to come down. I'm sure the Taliban doesnt pay $500+ for an AK. Besides I need to learn about the different variants of AK before I decide!
